IConBI 2024

Welcome to IConBI 2024

In 1977, George Engel introduced a model aimed at enhancing our understanding of human medical conditions, known as the Biopsychosocial model. This model integrates three key factors—biological, psychological, and social—to provide a holistic understanding of human conditions. In the effort to expand the application of this model in our environment, psychology plays a crucial role by conducting research and sharing findings on biopsychosocial issues.

The 1st International Conference on Biopsychosocial Issues was successfully held in Semarang, Central Java, in 2018. The event faced postponement in 2020 due to the worsening COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in a two-year delay. However, this situation also created opportunities to further develop the biopsychosocial concept. In 2022, the second conference was successfully organized at the same location, drawing significant interest from international participants.

The enthusiasm from participants around the world during the second IConBI has led to the continuation of this conference in 2024. This year's event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual attendance. The primary goal of this event is to discuss issues and research related to solving community problems through an integrated approach. Moreover, the conference will serve as a platform to enhance future collaborative initiatives within the academic and student communities, not only in psychology but across various disciplines.
